JG Sales
10pk $14.90
Why not run the rifle empty "Click" then dependent on your situation transition or reload.
If you are set on using tracers... Load 3 - 5 tracers...... then fill the magazine.

If you are shooting at anything close you won't see them burn. You need 100m+

J&G has them, it is red tipped Ulyanovsk. The tracer lights green.

I also bought some green tip Chinese x39mm off a member here on the EE, I am assuming it will light green as well.

I use the same tactic as yourself, it works pretty well. When I was testing it out I was running a carbine course type deal. The outside light was fairly good, not bright and sunny, but not near dusk either. If you are tight up on your rifle behind the sights, you will not see the tracer itself, but you will see white hot sparks and brighter than usual flame emit from your flash hider/muzzle brake as the tracer lights upon exiting the barrel. If you have your head slightly up above the sights you will see the tracer go, but only if you're shooting at a distance of more than 30 yards or so.

Really cool ammo, looks like you're shooting a laser beam at night, and quite useful to let you know when you absolutely NEED to reload.

As for tracers pointing both ways, yeah, they do, but shouldn't you be moving between points of cover in a firefight? Stationary targets are easy to hit... not to mention if you're in a firefight, I'm pretty sure the other guy already knows pretty much where you are by the time you're down to your 25th-29th round.
