| I want to put a triangle folder on a rommy g kit. Has anyone doen this? I have not experiance with the triangle folder. Can someone point me to a breakdsown of how they go together? thanks |
While not impossible to do, this mod is a bit labor intensive. Original Bulgarian triangle folders require EXTENSIVE modifications to the rear of the reciever, as well as a latch cut up front. These arent something thats just slapped on. You can look into K-Var for one that will rivet on with no mods to the reciever, but it adds a bit of length, and IMHO just doesnt "look" right. I suggest getting an AK-Builders flat that has all the cuts and hole for the pushbutton latch completed, and buying a Bulgy side folder. Bend it up and fit your parts to it. Or try and locate a Khyber pass rifle for sale(good luck ).

I just did this yesterday. Drilling the front trunion was very easy. The NDS-1KP receiver comes with the hole for the retaining pin in it. After I riveted the trunion, I centered my drill bit in the hole and drilled the appropriate size hole in the trunion. The hole goes completely thru the bottom of the trunion. The hardest part of the build was "INSTALLING" the front latch. That spring is a bitch. Here is a pic of the completed build.
