i dont usually deal with WASR's but i bought a wasr-2 5.45 the other day cause ive never had an AK in 5.45. i happen to love it actually.

soon as arsenal puts out some new 5.45 i will have one but thisl do for now.

question is, whats the difference in teh wasr-10 and the wasr-2. i notice the finish and everything is pretty much the same.. is it just the cal difference?

ps. ive never been so impressed with a wasr, maybe i got a good one? haha

I got lucky with a WASR-10 that I bought, and then got screwed with a WASR-3, I haven't taken the plunge on a 2 yet.

My understanding is that it's the same difference as between the AK 47 and 74.  Some of the parts interchange, but the 74 is smaller in areas because of the smaller caliber.

I'm sure someone else will chime in with a lot more technical information than I have...

for use, operation and function, they are 100% identical

hmm yes i noticed when i broke it down, some parts were smaller then i remember the wasr-10.

the bolt carrier seemed alot smaller, which would make sence of course..

either way im pretty happy with what i got for 350 bucks -rifle and 3 mags.

Wring it out with some of the cheap ammo that's all over the place right now.  Then get back to us with your experiences.  I for one am interested to hear how it works out for you.  TIA

A friend and I got these earlier in the year, since my father in law/brother in law also got one.   I cleaned up and finished my stock, the other 3 are just purely range beaters.  All 4 run great right now.  No cant  no mag wobble.  The only problems that were encountered were 2 had problems using the steel mags that came with it.   That was easily fixed with the ORF mag deal they had a few months back.  1 was uncleaned when rec'd and had some trouble going fully into battery the first time out, but shockingly after getting the cosmo off the rail and off the recoil spring it has not had any sort of problem since.
In fact with all the cheap ammo that's been going around, my wasr has gone on many range trips with my coworkers, friends, and family without me and no one has reported anything less than just pure fun to shoot.
I for one am very happy, my vector u/f is my pretty ak but the wasr still gets it's love.
