I have read a couple of people making references to Winchester Q3131 (no A) with a head stamp of 05 on different posts. Who is making this? I thought IMI no longer had the contract for Winchester. Who has this in stock? How much is it seling for? I would like to restock my Q3131A. Any information out there? Beat Trash |

The pics show 5.56mm Q3131 and the caption says it also but what down below it actually is the USA223R1. I ordered some of what I thought was Q3131A from outdoormarksman but what I was USA223R1A. Now this was made in Israel but is marked as .223 not 5.56. Outdoormarksman had the specs on Q3131A but I looked up the USA stuff on Winchester's site and it is different. It's still made in Israel but unless someone tests this stuff it is not the same. |
 The box in the picture says 5.56 mm. The only Winchester USA boxed products I know of that are 5.56 loads are Q3131 and Q3131A. I would like to know where this new '05 stuff was made, if it is in fact Q3131, and if it is compliant with the full M193 specification. |

i just rec'd some of the aforementioned Q3131. i have not shot any yet. the cases are headstamped with "WCC", either "04" or "05", and the nato cross. of the 5 boxes of 20 rounds each that i opened up, about 60% of rounds are 04 and the remainder are 05. obvious differences from Q3131A: internal packaging -- Q3131 has a carboard separator. external packaging -- Q3131 says "Made in USA". lot number -- Q3131 lot is only visible on carboard separator. ar-jedi        bigger/more pics at losdos.dyndns.org:8080/public/ammo/win-q3131/ |
Looks good. Not as much sealant on the primers are the '94 stuff. How much was the total price with shipping included? |
you can get Q3131 from www.midwayusa.com/rewriteaproduct/355842 or www.cougarridgetradingpost.com/223ammo.htm in this instance, since i bought a bunch of other stuff at the same time, it came out cheaper to go with midway even though the base Q3131 price is $3 higher. ar-jedi |
I hope you sent the USA223R1A back and demanded a refund! I will not tolerate bait and switch practices by shop owners. If it doesn't say Q3131 on the box. It isn't 5.56 ammo. |

Has anybody fired any of this yet? maybe chrono'd it?I am very interested, Q3131A has been 100% reliable for me for a long time now. But I'd like to have some Q3131 Since this is nato stamped, does it meet M193 specs? Sorry for all the questions but thought I'd lay 'em all out at one time. |
