- This last photo was taken on a sad sad day. You never forget the loss of a Dillo. I'm currently awating the arrival of the envious green Dillo to up the spirits of brother Dillos.

I take every chance I can get to thank Jeff for his patience, never-ending help and advice. Without him, I would still be clueless. Not one piece of information I have received from Jeff has been anything less than first hand and right on. With that said, I would also agree that if LaRue makes it, I will buy it from them, as I know its the best.

A little late to the show but here's my entry.

Last time this thread came about this was what I had.

I've since added a little.

The freebies.

The various mounts.

The LaRue DMR upper.

The dedicated .22LR.

Given the proper financial situation I would without a doubt be a Larue whore. Unfortunately for me, I have neither the money nor the justification to spend that much on tactical gear...damnit. If I were in the military or LE, I would buy pretty much everything from Larue.

What chest rig are you using in this pic USMC03? I like it but I cant find it anywhere.

Recently a friend was at my house and the topic turned to guns and gear, as it usually does.

We began discussing our likes and dislikes with gear relating to the AR15 platform, our likes and dislike, and what has and has not worked for us.

During this conversation my friend called me a "LaRue whore".

I smirked and explained that I purchased my first piece of gear, a LaRue ACOG mount in the early spring of 2004 and it was far superior to any ACOG mount that I had used up to that point. I then purchased a rail system, again it was far superior to any other rail system that I had used up to that point.

From that point until present when ever I've needed a rail system, optic mount, Surefire mount, etc. I have purchased LaRue products.

Due to problems I had with 2 other rail systems coming loose at the barrel nut, I used my entire 2005 tax return converting all of my rail systems over to LaRue rails.

I even went about replacing the rail systems, optic mounts, etc. that I currently had with LaRue products.

In the last couple days I have been thinking about the "LaRue whore" comment that my friend made.

I know someone here has more LaRue Tactical gear than me.......Let's see how much LaRue gear you've got:

Damn. That is a hell of a company!

They have a brand new customer here! I figure around tax time im gonna order a Aimpoint M3/Larue Cantilever (or some other Aimpoint model).

But from now on, Larue will be my first stop for AR accessorys

Jeff, cool setup! Does the Larue Surefire flashlight holder sit far enough forward to give you full control of the rifle without using a forward grip? The reason I ask is that I am building something similar, but do not want to use a rail/forward grip, but i do want to be able to place a Surefire G2 with a Malkov LED flood head on the rifle for certain operational aspects...

In this pic the gun still had the factory Noveske 10.0 rail on it (currently has a LaRue 11.0), but the light was approximately in the same position. Works perfect for the way I grip the rail (index finger pointed in the same direction as the muzzle laying against the 9 o'clock rail ......... thumb and other 3 fingers grabbing the rail via a "beer can grasp")

I showed this technique to another shooter in another class. Here is how my grip looks from the other side (the shooter in the pic is not me):

I use my middle finger to activate the clicker tail cap on the Surfire Scout light. Looks odd in pics, but feels natural and I have good control and dexerity. I can push the button in part way for momentary light, or push it in until it clicks to have constant on. I use the side of the ring finger (between the fingernail and the pad of the finger) to activate the clicker tail cap. The middle finger is the only thing that leave the handguard when I activate the light and does not require me to adjust my grip.

Damn... that sucks. Im just a plinker guy. Never had tactical training (wouldn't mind it) really no need for a tactical vest. But I wouldnt mind having one for a ... just in case situation. Thats gotta be the most simplistic, and good looking vest I have seen on the forum. Im jealous.

Wow did you saw through that to get it off? I noticed there might be some loctite on m stealth upper. I need to get a strap wrench to try to take it off so I can eventually clean under the handguards.

You don't clean underneath a LaRue rail.

Weird, I was messin' around with my form earlier and thought up the exact same grip USMC03 and you use. Gun was fast on-target when used against a stress ball from across the room.

I don't know how well it will work once I switch from M4 guards to a 7.0 rail/XTM panels, though; I have relatively small hands.
