Thanks for the tutorial HD. Installed the Micro QD Sling Mount without a lot of drama. Getting the spirolock on was the biggest challange.

I agree, the Spirolock is the biggest challenge - I found a jewelers screwdriver (to spread the end) helped a lot. It's a lot like working with a tiny split ring keychain!

I'm just finishing my 16'' Dissipator build. I just started thinking about a sling. I kinda like the MS3. My research is limited at this time,,,since I just started,,,,lol. I'm not too crazy about the MSA front mount that I would have to use. I really like the looks of this little QD. I don't believe the MS3 is available with 2 QD mount's,,,is it?? So if I was set on using it I think I would have to have one sewn on for the front. No biggie, I know someone who could do it.

All that being said, is this a reasonable option. Anything better idea's. Where would I mount this QD on a rifle length MOE with a heavy barrel using a 1-2 point sling like the MS3. Thanks

I would say somewhere in the rear of where your hand is going to be. That way you don't grab the sling when grabbing the handguard.

Same here I ordered a set of MOE handguards with the mount installed this past Monday ( Dec. 31st) and haven't heard anything since.

For those that mounted these on carbine length hand guards how close did you get to the slit on the hand guard. Im looking at it and it going to be close. Any change of this breaking that piece off?
