Hi,
This is my first post in along time. Maybe this subject has been flogged to death, but I can't seem to get a search to work. I apologize if I'm being dedundant.. I have a custom build AR/M4 5.56/.223 on an LMT Defender 2000 lower. What all would, or do I need, to add a 10MM upper and get it to funtion properly. Please speak to me in crayola, I'm not all that well versed on the AR 15 platform and nomenclature. Spent a couple of years sleeping with an M-16 when I wasn't cheating on it with an M-14(she had bigger hooties), but that was 40 years ago..and better left there. Basically what I want is a "convertable" capability to swap back and forth from .223 to 10mm. Is this do-able? Thanks... RS |

I have built plenty of 10mm uppers & they run great on stock lowers with converted GG mags. This is the first 10mm I built. I build these to run DI/gas operated. The 10mm in blowback is like running a jackhammer compared to DI. Plus parts are off the shelf.
I am also converting GG mags with the block on the back like oly did back in the day. I use derlin instead of steel. I am still hearing about issues with the plastic oly mags. I have someone that wants a couple GG converted mags for his oly45. Seems he cannot get more than 15rnds in his 18rnd oly mag
