The Colt MARS project was chambered in 10mm Auto Mag.  Tromix and myself tried unsuccessfully to make a standard AR15 to function reliably in this caliber.  We used 6.8 SPC bolts and mags, however, the rounds would not make the transition from the magazine to the chamber.  No wanting to get into making modifications to the magazines, those barrels were rechambered to 40 Super.

The other issue is that only source of 10mm Auto Mag brass exists and they don't make it very often.  When they do, it tends to get bought up very quickly by folks who use it for other wildcats based on this case.

You're more than welcome to try, I can even loan you the reamer.

There are some hot 40cals. I had Marty make the first 40super AR15 upper. Feeds 100% out of GG mags. With a 11.5" brl I ran the 135s over 2000fps. 155s to 1900fps. Slowest was the 200s @ 1550fps.  If your looking for a fast 40 there out there. If you just want to play with the 10mm mag I can understand. Its just the round is long with a mild taper & it will be a challenge to feed anywere but from the center. Just my 2cents.

I would like to hunt deer with this round with 170 or 180 gr bullets have you tried any of these? And what mag block for the 40super and Grease gun mags? Is your gun gas operated? Thanks Mike

Gas opreated/DI. GG mags will work from the front or back. The pps mags would work for this also. For hunting I can convert an AR mag to single feed the 45round to make a 4-5 rnd mag. I make a derlin block to work with the GG mag converted to fit in the std AR lower

I am working on the 45win mag necked down to 40cal.

For somthing realy fast I have the 40X. 50Beowulf brass trimed to 1.285 necked down. 200s @ 2000fps & 155s @ 2300fps.

It all depends on how fast you want to go.
