| I have seen hundreds of upper receiver variations from .22 to .50 BMG so why hasn't anyone invented a shot gun upper. It doesn't sound that crazy to me. I bet this subject gets some hits. |

1.)The Length of the shell may be too long to fit into a mag and be inserted into the AR magwell. 2.)If you able to get the mags to feed the shotshells, the BATF may rule it a Large Bore Destructive Device as it will have a bore of over 1/2" and be of 'a non sporting character'. Same thing occured with the Stryker 12, Street Sweeper, and USAS-12. 3.)I believe it would violate the AWB, as it would be " A semiautomatic shotgun that has at least 2 of the following features: a folding or telescoping stock. a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon. a fixed magazine capacity in excess of 5 rounds. an ability to accept a detachable magazine. " The pistol grip and detachable mag would make it an "AW" under the current legislation. Chris |

I would do it with AR10 or even the SR25. Enough room in the magwell for a three-inch magnum. The way I would design it (trust me I looked into it) would make it a recoil barrel system to operate the action and use a similar bolt design to that of an AR17 "Golden Gun". I would sell upper conversions, no paper work envolved. The ATF would have to ban the uppers not the lowers. The great part about it is, the uppers have no paper trail. My two cintavos worth. ls |

In theory, this would work.... Only the barrel length is too short. Needs to be 18" min and meet the min long gun length. All you would need is to make an adapter that goes the lenght of the barrel to shoot 12 shells. The lower is a gun..... Granted, it would be a single shot... |
