We scrapped a lot of parts attempting many different types of finish. The worst were the FDE anodized ones, we scrapped three runs of 250 in a row. That's when I quite making them. Shortly after is when LWRI quite doing them as well. We did the receivers pictured above in Nickel Teflon for our 10th Anniversary rifles. Now these came out beautifully. I can see us continuing to offer them in the future. ETA: Pic :-) |

Great thread.
Out of curiosity, how often have you guys removed your permed muzzle device, and do you typically use blind pin or silver solder? Love the 14.5" barrel, but changing the muzzle device can be a pain. |

Love the 14.5" barrel, but changing the muzzle device can be a pain. I am about to change a muzzle device on one of my uppers. The only reason being I live in a ban state. Most on here have used blind pin. I would rather trust a pin than some solder. Changing a muzzle device is not fun, so be sure of what you get. In my case I had an upper that i purchased before I lived in a banned state. Now that I am in a ban state for the time being i will have to have a comp pinned on before i bring it to NJ. That is the only reason why i would change it. I would pick a flash suppressor or comp that will take a suppressor that you like. If you plan on ever using a suppressor. Other than that, enjoy the bit of length and weight you shave off of your upper. If you decide you want a different muzzle device, build another gun |

Gear Sector offset mount...top notch quality, first rate customer service...can't say enough good things about them. Most people I've seen run them on the side rails but after experimenting I found the top mount worked best for my setup
