A while back Mike at NDS posted an ad from 1987 that had the full auto models from that year.  I searched the prior posts and could not find it. Can anyone help me out?  I am in the middle of a 723 clone build from that time frame and wanted to verify a few things.

Thanks.
I have a C7 upper ready to go, but can't figure out if it should have a large or small forward assist.  I have both and I am trying to figure out which one to install.

The rifle in that particular ad looks like it has the large round FA with the flat milled on the side installed on it.

Like this one.

I put a small round one on mine, but I'm also using an A2 profile barrel and M203 cut type barrel.

by looking at the pics in Ekie's carbine guide it looks like they used a small with the C7 and a large (can't tell from the pic if it's a full round or the "D" cut one) with the A1, of course there are no absolutes regarding how Colt built stuff

723

Commonly referred to as a M16A2 Carbine, slang as "CAR-15", 8 million serial number range, 1984-?:

Receiver looks to have A2 reinforcements so I'm betting its the "D" cut one.

You may be correct but, the '87 pic I have looks like an A1 lower

I am using a A1 lower and a C7 upper and the LW barrel.  The way Colt did things I figure either is correct but I guess I stick the small one on there.
