| Anyone here have one? What brand and length of barrel are you running? Thinking about putting one together for a prairie dog gun for my wife. How does the caliber do in the AR platform? |

We made a bunch of uppers in 20 Tactical and then switched to the 204 Ruger when it came out. At the time we were using Pac-Nor 3-groove barrel blanks to make the barrels. They often shot sub 1/2" five shot groups at 100 yards. Keep in mind, the 204 is very fast, so you don't want to have your gas port too far down the barrel, or you will be drilling a huge hole to get it to run. Remember, it's dwell TIME. Not dwell distance, and that bullet is screaming past the gas port. Tony Rumore Tromix |

I’ve monkeyed with changing gas port locations on two ARs, but I thought about those changes in terms of added gas system distance, not dwell time. Fortunately both chamberings weren’t screamers like the 204, so the added gas length tamed ejection in both cases. |

I am still thinking about building an upper I think it could be a fun round in the AR |
