I recently picked up some late 60's / early 70's Colt 20 rounders. I believe they were originally anodized and then coated with gray moly. Is there any way to stop the original finish from wearing off? They work great but my hands look I was playing with graphite after I use them. Thanks.

Thanks for the link Desperado. Not interested in refinishing, would like to preserve what's still there if at all possible.

juice them with CLP, get it pretty wet let it sit overnight then wipe completely dry. I do this with my mags and like it alot.

Gave the Break-Free a shot but it did not stop the moly from coming off. Finally removed what was left of the moly with acetone and am down to the original anodized finish. I'll "juice" them with Break Free after each use as a replacement for the moly. Will try to post some pics later; they really don't look half bad for 40 year old mags.
