Did my first 80% lower to completion tonight!

Used the Modulus Universal jig.



Now I just need it anodized.

Looks good.  Maybe you should test it before you anodize it.

If I had machined that, and then put the lower parts into it to test it, I'd probably never get around to the anodize.

Put it together just enough to dry check it.

From the video on his blog it looks like he used the same model Makita that I have, the  RT0701C.

There goes all your time and $$$ !

When I cut one, I always function check them before I clean up.  Also, it's good to get in the habit of visually inspecting everything before starting.  You can create a check list if you need, but do something for your peace of mind.  Most wont take returns after you start cutting.

Also, of you are going to send off for finishing, make sure you have clearance for wverything, including the mag well.  Better to open it up a little before finishing than after the fact.
