I have a Spikes 22 LR conversion kit for my AR-15 with a 1 in 7 twist. I haven't had a chance to go to the range yet and was wondering, How is is the 22 LR accuracy. Is it good enough to be used on squirrils and rabbits? Say maybe out to 40 or 50 yards ?
Thanks OB |

I think a 1-9 is pretty decent. The .22 dedicated uppers have a 1-16 twist. |

My experience has been that every one of these rifles is different and the only way to know is to take to the range with a bunch of different types ammo and have fun. I tried my ciener in a buddy's 1:7 and it shot decent groups at 50 yrds, 10 rds 1 3/4". My heavy barreled 1:8 varmint AR can't seem to do any better than 2 1/2" at 50 yds with the ammo I have tried. My 16" RRA 1:8 carbine can shoot 1 1/4" groups at 50 yds without any problems. Don't speculate just take it out and try it.
