Modern weapon systems says they have a conbersion coming out, but I'm thinking about building my own.
A rifled barrel blank to have chambered should be easy enough to come buy, from green mountain or some such source. Standard AR bolt and some experimental drilling for the gas system would be in order, or just drill big and go adjustable gas block. Mags though of course are the thing that say "gotcha, fucker" Since OAL is that of the .45ACP, a modified grease gun mag seems the best choice for the least amount of capital. I would love an HK UMP Mag solution, but the feed lips can be more easily modified on GG mags. I know guys are bending feed lips in one them for .40, but I would expect a small wedge of metal may need to be removed to get them close enough together to feed the 9mm width casing. Follower may or may not work, that is yet to be seen. Anybody have any thoughts? |

PPSH-41 mags should work.

| Doesn't have to be loaded to .45 OAL. There is the other version, the 22TCM9r, same cartridge, loaded deeper. Could use standard colt smg mags and mag block(maybe). I've had a crazy idea floating in my head but not the time or resources to devote. Would be nice if a subsonic solution presented itself here. Not sure if a shorter than pistol length gas system would cycle these or if the cartridge itself is too much for a blowback operation. Would be awesome if this cartridge could work out similar to 300blk with super and subs in same platform. A cheaper solution than 300blk and possibly operational with lighter charges of pistol powders. Would make a great SBR/supressor platform. |

Are you planning on running it blowback or DI? I recall 9mm DI is somewhat elusive, it'll work 70% about 60% of the time. No, too much pressure here I think to run a blowback system. Problem with 9mm is bulk ammo doesnt burn clean and is loaded to run in anything, so reloading is required to get a powder that burns 95% before reaching the gas block. 22 tcm is a much higher pressure cartridge and should burn a lot more efficiently, but being as Armscor is about the only offereing and I don't know clean it is, reloading will likely be necessary for this venture at first too. |

Not yet Hope to have a couple with headspace gauges on the way by this afternoon.......this could be a fun little beastie......I'm thinkin it might run on pistol length gas system.........and should run from pps43 mags......I should be able to resurrect my mag adapter with a few improvements.... EDIT:.....unfortunately it'll be several weeks for delivery........BUT ....................headspace gauges and reamer are ordered............... Soon as I get one built and work out gas system....I will probably be doing a run of these.......input on desired barrel lengths will be appreciated..... |

I'm in the process of building one as we speak. I had the idea of running it through my QC10 GSF lower when I saw the proposed 22tcmr, or whatever they were calling the round shortened down for the Glock conversion. Got the barrel and PPS43 mag adapter from Ron months ago but a couple other builds hopped ahead of it in line. Started piecing it together from the parts bin on Sunday and i'm just waiting on a couple small parts to come in before I can go out and test it. http://i.imgur.com/gfltqfQ.jpg Once I get it tested I will be playing around with load development with some of these. http://i.imgur.com/46oydlK.jpg Details on the operation/gas system please? |

You've got my attention. Any specific powder you have in mind? Haven't got that far into it yet, I'd like to get my hands on QuickLoad or something like that to get a rough idea of what powders I can run through safely along with the estimated pressures. From the research I've done Unique, Lil Gun, H110 and W296 are popular for close to factory spec rounds so that's probably where I will start. |

I've been reading this magazine and Rifle for 20 years always a great source of data, check it out.************************************************* |
