With a Ciener kit (or equivalent) is there anything to do besides replacing the bolt carrier group and magazine?

try several different kinds of ammo to find what works and shoots best in yours

some folks report theirs works dry just fine, mine needs to be oily wet

some folks report same POI at 25 meters as with 5.56 ammo, mine has a 3" difference in POI at 25 meters vs. 5.56 rounds.

Nope.  That's it and you're running.

I lube mine 'normally' with a bit of gun grease, works fine, but does start to get quite gritty at about 400 rounds.

In mine:

Stag Model 1 16" 1/9

CCI mini mags shoots roughly 1 3/4"-2 1/4" low @25 with lots of reliability issues(stove pipes, ftf's fte's) about 20 problems in 200 rounds, starts choking with any sort of rapid fire.

Cheapo Federal bulk shoots about 2 1/2"-3" low @25 but MUCH more reliable with only one or two ftf's in 200 rounds, no stove pipes or fte's. go figure. No issues with rapid fire.

I just shoot a few, spin the elevation wheel around till its 'close'(not consistent enough to get a 100% zero), and rock and roll... Cheap fun.  Even with the shit performance of CCI in mine, no OOB discharges yet.
