| Besides opening up the ejection port, what other mods must be made to an upper receiver for the 25 WSSM? |
|
The Olympic arms bolt and extension pair is the only game in town now. A couple more manufacturers with prototypes so far.
IIRC the oly extension is larger and requires a special upper. http://www.olyarms.com/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=50&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=37 |

As far as the larger barrel extension, I believe you are telling me that the upper receiver must be machined to accept the larger WSSM barrel extension?
So as far as the upper itself, the ejection port must be hogged out and where the barrel and barrel extension mate to the upper must be machined to accept the larger WSSM barrel extension that no one is offering for sale at the moment. The magazine looks to be a modified standard GI Mag (lip opening modified) with a follower that looks like the one from a 50 Beowolf. Is this correct? I understand the bolt is a special made part to hold up to the higher pressures of the WSSM, are there any mods required to the BCG? What length gas port is best, rifle length? Does the gas port need to be adjustable? Any issues with a OEM buffer? Is a heavier buffer required? Special parts include: Modified Upper Receiver (ejection port and barrel mating) WSSM Barrel WSSM Barrel Extension WSSM Magazine WSSM Bolt Large Port Cover (optional) Am I still missing anything? Anything else I need to be aware of? |
