1. HOW MUCH DIFF DOES CHROME LINEING MAKE IN YOUR BARREL?Not enough to warrent the extra cost. Cleaning is a bit easier, and wear is a bit better (but unless you are running FA or shoot 1000 rounds a week, i would worry about it).

2. AND I KNOW THIS IS PROBALLY STUPID BUT WHAT IS THE DIFF BTW PRE AND POST BAN? The Ban is referring to the Federal Assault Weapons Ban. If you see Ban Compliant, that usually means that the rifle would have a fixed stock, no bayo lug, and a permed Brake (not flash hider) or nothing on the muzzle at all. The Federal AWB is no longer in affect, but some states still have it, so only "pre-ban" rifles can have the "goodies". You can look at Pre-Ban and No Ban as pretty much interchangeable, if you do not live in a "Ban" state.

 Hope that helps.

preban = b4 1994

postban = 1994-2004

no ban (same as preban, but only for those not living in commie states NY,NJ, Ca, etc) 2004 on

Chrome lining helps with cleaning and if your not much on maintance, less likely to rust, etc

1) Chrome lining makes a gun much easier to maintain and more reliable when you don't have time to maintain it.  For what it's worth I wouldn't own an AR that didn't have a chrome lined (or maybe SS barrel.) If it's just a range toy for you or a free floated precision gun YMMV

2) There is no real difference between "pre-ban" and "post-ban" (post ban is also called "no-ban") unless you live in a state that kept the ban but grandfathered in pre-ban stuff.  Then you need a pre-ban receiver to have the cool toys.
