1. A.R.M.S. Selective Integrated Rail system: about those selectable rails: how are they attached and how many does the system ship with (is it as simple as "bolt on" and "as many as will fit/all of them)? 2. Daniel Defense 7.0: Do they come with rail covers? If not, what are people's favorite brands? |

Actually, the last time I checked, if you order the DD RAS from [url=www.mstn.biz]MSTN[/url], it will come with a complete set of [url=www.ergogrips.net/vfg.html#covers]lower profile rail covers[/url]. I've been using some on my all my rifles and they seem to hold up fine. They sure do stay on though there's not quite as comfortable to hold as the KAC panels. And sorry, I don't know the answer to your first question. |

The rails do not attach by hex screws. They go thru the handguard and run in a track, and are called selective (intergrated Rails) for that reason. There is a spring loaded (captivated, you can't loose it) screw in the rail that fixes it in a semi perminent solid lock that is tightened/lossened via a coin or bayonet, etc. Good shootin, Jack |
| I forgot to mention that ARMS show that ALL the selective rails come with the system, plus they also include the milti postion sling swivel too. They also have a #4 longer rail available. By the way, the selective rails also go in and lock in the track without the handguard if your hanging an M203 off the barrel on the #45 SIR. |

If you look at the pics somewhere on the ARMS web sight, and or I also think one of their brochures, it shows an M203 supported by panels that look like the handguards. The panels allow the M203 to attach free float via the same track that the SIR lower hand guard attaches. The #45 M or C will let the M203 attach to the barrel in the std. way, or free float via the panels. All SIR models alow the free float M203, only the #45's allow the option of hanging off the barrel too. The selective rails go in the track whether the hand guard is there or not, and that allows for the mounting of the grenade launcher sights to be put where ever they need to be mounted on the side.
