Taking the plunge for a Ampoint. Asking pros and cons for 2moa dot vs. 4moa dot?
Thanks

I'm a fan of the 2 MOA dot I have on my aimpoint. Its plenty big/bright enough to acquire quickly and the smaller size makes it better for longer ranges because it blocks less of your target.

Some like the 4moa for close quarters stuff because you can acquire it better quickly.  If I had a rifle that I was only going to use for CQ I might get one, but I can only afford to have one AR at the moment and I use it short and longer ranges

2 MOA is a great overall size. 4 is faster under 50 yards. I've had a 4MOA aimpoint T-1 on my close quarters carbine for the last 3 years, but would recommend a 2MOA for a "multi-purpose" rifle.

You can make the 2 MOA "look" like a 4 MOA by turning it up but you can't make a 4 MOA "look" like a 2 MOA by turning it down.

I have bloody poor eyesight:  And not just because the "halo" is smaller, but the 2MOA dot shows up crisper for me than a 4 MOA dot....

Just a thought, and 2 MOA is big enough to me, for super-close under-50 yard shots the 4MOA may be better, but not a huuuge amount.
