Finally completed my second 80% build
Modulas 80% lower with matching upper and buffer tube in Red Faxon 18 gunner barrel Hogue overmolded red lava furniture KNS anti walk pins (just in case my holes were too big) MBUIS Simple Threaded Device comp This was fun to build and the Modulas jig was easy to use with my full size router. Cant tell but the grip is the red lava which does not come out in the pics but is a nice match. Wish it had more red but when you order online you cant search through the inventory to find the good one. Have a couple of mags on order and 500 rounds coming cant wait to shoot it.

You can do either way but if you do it with a router (assuming you have one) a simple vice is all that is needed with the jig.
A drill press would require a good x-y vise. Plus with a router it is easier to access the cavity to vacuum out the chips and to look down and see your progress |

A router will give you a far superior finished product.
Drill presses are not designed to cut latterly only vertically. Lack of good horizontal support on the spindle/quill/chuck causes substantial chattering. Routers and mills are specifically designed to handle lateral loading and will give you a much nicer finish. |

I used a regular drill for the holes before routing as the jig is pretty high and would not fit under my cheap drill press
I did protect the sides with blue painters tape just in case but I did not see any marks on it when removing. Better safe than sorry was my motto |
