Lets say, indifferent.  There are things I like, but it's like carrying a tactical brick.  It's strong as hell, and can hold about anything besides the kitchen sink.  But this rifle wasn't supposed to be light weight to begin with; so in this case, I don't love it but I don't hate it.

Sorry to be so vague.  If there is something more in depth you're curious about let me know and I'll try my best to answer.

Nice rifle. How's the YHM Diamond FF? Been eyeballing that one for my next build so I can save money over a DD or LT FF.

Any comparisons you can give would be appreciated.

I like them.  Weight was not my main concern on this build.  Reduced felt recoil was more of what I was going for.  That being said, YHM makes good products to begin with.  They aren't entry level, but they're not top shelf either, but for what they are and the price associated with them they're sitting pretty.  Every YHM product I've had has been gtg.

The only thing I have to compare them to (within its class, free floated quad-rails) are the Midwest T12's.  MI's are about 5 ounces lighter, and I know ounces lead to pounds, etc., but 1/3 pound difference on a handguard really doesn't add a noticeable difference.  I know a lot of people would jump all over that comment, but as a former mortarman, humping a 35lb m253 cannon....I could give a $hit less about 1/3 pound.  If you can honestly notice the .3 lb difference on a loaded AR while walking/shooting/etc, then you sir need to be working at NASA 'cause your a damn physics prodigy.

So, weight not being an issue it really comes to price, quality and aesthetics.  The price is cheaper than MI, and cheaper than most other comparable FF quad rails with a continuous top rail.  Plus if you could score a used set on the EE from someone who is "upgrading" then you're set.  Unlike a used wife, a used chunk of metal is usually a sure thing.  Again, the quality is great and far exceed whatever I'm doing with this rifle.  I have no intentions to pound in railroad spikes with these rails, nor will I be driving back and forth over them.  So quality is excellent.  And as far as aesthetics, c'mon man, they look cool!

If you have a limitless budget, then go DD Lite 12.0.  It's 9.8 ounces lighter....and $200 more.  To me, a half pound is not worth 100 bucks.

Hope that helps you out.....however I wouldn't be shocked if you stopped reading about 5 lines into my dissertation on handhuards.  If you have any other questions let me know.
