I built a 300 blkout  upper, 16 in barrel with  pistol length gas port. Lower has  an A2 buffer tube with A2 buffer and spring. When I shoot a round (150 FMJBT) it will cycle the round out and strip a new round from the mag into chamber  but when I pull the trigger on next round the hammer is not cocked. If I load a single round she will fire the round and hold the bolt back , as expected. Any thought as to the problem?

thanks in advance

Sounds like the hammer is not being locked down to the disconnector.  Do you have the springs in place correctly?  Are you missing the disconnector spring?  I would not fire it again, as it seems that the hammer could hit the firing pin again giving you a double fire.

so I checked and I found the pin for the hammer had walked out on one side. I checked that pin against another one from another lower and it is shorter so I replaced it with a longer one. I will take it back to the range next week and see what happens. thanks for the response. I am enjoying shooting the 300.

I replaced the pin for the hammer with one that has the screws on both ends. I took it to the range yesterday and she ran flawlessly. Thanks again for  the help. This forum is awesome.
