How are u guys starting builds? I have searched all day and only found 1 8.5 and 1 10.5 inch barrels and they were ridiculously overpriced! Anybody got any leads on something in stock?

What do you consider over priced? There are a number of reasonably priced barrels available.

Start with the site venders at the top of the page.

Best to start on the left and work to the right.

I had good luck with the $80 PSA special and good luck with the $350 Noveske. Look for pistol gas system and good reviews. You cant go wrong with any if the major brand names, AAC included.

I've had good luck with Mas Defense, they are in the $120 range with fast service.

When I was building mine I had a hard time finding a 8.5" Noveske. DSGarms was the only place that had them in stock.

Right now they have a few barrels in stock.

I have bought to 16" barrels from MasDefense and I have not had any issues out of either. I can shoot both super-sonic and sub-sonic with my low profile gas block and carbine length gas system. I have a Spikes Tactical lower with regular buffer and buffer spring. In the whole build I probably don't have more than $600 in it. You just have to shop around for the best deals.
