I am building an SBR. I just started ordering parts for the lower. I have some time before i have to decide between 300blk and 5.56. I keep lots of 5.56/.223 around. I would hate spending $0.60 per round for plinking. For HD and such, good ammo is fine, but i am having trouble finding less expensive 300blk bulk ammo. I would like to find a few sources for it before i buy a barrel.
Anyone have a source? Edit: I did briefly searched for this topic. |
| In short, no there is nothing right now. Hopefully as the round gains popularity, there will be. The cheapest you can get it for is about 55 cents/round or so by watching for sales at midway, cheaper than dirt, etc for Remington UMC. You cheapest option by far is to reload. I am reloading for about 28 cents/round. This does not include the brass cost, the brass came from shooting factory loaded ammo. |

I'm not recommending, just mentioning more of the options. |

Yes, brass is quite easy to make or procure, but I chose to buy ammo and shoot it in order to build my collection of brass. Once you shoot 500 or so you have plenty to reload for a while. Just the way I did it, there are other options. |

I don't reload currently, but i have started saving brass. In the spring i want to get a Dillon 550B. So the Remington is the best price now? Yea its what you can find on sale or use coupon codes on at bigger stores like Midwayusa. There are some companies that load their own "bulk" ammo such as getontargetammo.com and PNW Arms but its still expensive. |
