Who makes this bcg?  Looks like a nice carrier but its way cheaper than a lot of others I'm looking at like Rainier Arms, Rubber City, or JP.  Even a DPMS is more.

I've seen .308 bcg's for as low as $130 on websites like Tactical Ambush so $180 isn't like bottom of the barrel low.

As for the manufacturer, I have no idea.

If you want a bcg from a reputable manufacturer with forward assist serrations there is this AIM surplus bcg which I (er..um a friend) plans on getting for a future build.  Price is $160 or they have a NiB for $20 more.

I'd avoid any "good deals" on NiB bolt carrier groups. Most of the cheap ones have either poor machining or flaking of the finish. Mine had both.

That looks very similar to the Rainier Arms 308 bcg, just a different finish.

With the 308, is best to stick with reputable mfgs. Toolcraft makes a good DPMS style, many people use there's. Aim, Aero, just to name 2.

I'm partial to Armalite. You can use their bcg, just don't mix and match bolts or other parts. But they don't have the fancy coatings, which is really just good for cleaning. No real ground breaking benefits besides using less oil and being extremely easy to clean, and i guess being shiny.

Get the one from AIM for $160.

Has good specs and forward assist serrations. I've yet to see any real benefit to nickel coated bolt carriers other than easier cleaning. Cleaning them isn't hard.

I went with RCA. They have great reviews and awesome specs. Little pricey, but you pay for quality.

I agree with you on the nickel coating only being a benefit for cleaning.  I won't need forward assist serrations, it will be going in a Mega Maten.  I don't think the carrier makes much of a difference, but I'd rather put money toward the bolt like a JP bolt.

The AIM BCG is a good one. I dont have the 308 but the 556 is good.
