I'm looking at 18in barrels for my build and see two interesting options available but not in the same barrel.  You can either get a barrel with polygonal rifling or a special chamber cut capable of shooting 7.62 NATO & .308 WIN rounds with accuracy.  Is one feature better to have over the other?

BHW makes some good offerings with Polygonal bores and with 308B chambers that will handle
both the .308 Winchester and 7.62x51mm NATO rounds...

I would go with the 20" barrel length personally, with a rifle gas system in a medium weight
contour/profile to get the most out of the round...

Good luck.

Are you talking about Rainier? They have the Select which has 5R rifling and a 1:11" twist. Their Match is a "special" chamber to handle both, but it has standard 6 groove rifling and a 1:10" twist.

I went with the select. Any .308 chambered rifle can handle 7.62x51mm NATO. I like the 5R rifling and the twist rate much more, plus it is supposedly a couple ounces lighter. In addition, it is guaranteed sub-moa just like the Match and it is much cheaper. No brainer for me.
