Hi everyone

This is my first full build and i can not get the barrel to go into the receiver more then maybe 1/3 of the way. Is the barrel supposed to fit this tight? What can i do? The upper receiver is a Fulton Armory Titan and the barrel is from Bison Armory. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

It is kind of hard to tell how tight this is.
A tight fitting barrel is a good thing to a point.
Measure everything.

Silly question - is there enough room to install the barrel with the upper on the fixture? It almost looks like the fixture blocks it from going in.

Good luck with the build.

I somewhat recently built a MEGA MA-TEN and the Noveske barrel I used (Armalite pattern) is expected to be a very tight fit. Many say to freeze the barrel and heat the upper receiver. I tried all that and it did diddly squat for me. Here's what worked like a charm:

1. Lube the barrel extension and barrel nut threads.
2. Align the barrel properly, push it in as far as it can go. I gave the end of the barrel a little smack using a hammer and a block of wood as a buffer. Not a real hard smack, but stern.
3. Slide on the barrel nut and start tightening it up. Let the barrel nut do all the work. The barrel nut will suck the barrel right in perfectly.
4. Once the barrel is in place you can begin torquing it properly (torque wrench).

That jig looks to be holding ya up you might have to shave off 1/2 inch of material
On the jig in order to get the barrel seated....

had the same problem just last night trying to install a rainier barrel on a MATEN i heated the receiver end for about 20 minutes with a hair dryer on high and stuck the barrel in the freezer for the same amount of time, make sure you put anti seize (lithium grease) on the barrel extension. after 20 minutes of heating the receiver and having the barrel in the freezer it went in just using my hands and a little bit of force.

My barrel was only going in the receiver as far as your barrel is and the first few times heating the receiver it did not work, but if you let it sit long enough it will go in.

ETA: FYI both the people i communicated with from Rainier and Mega both recommended this method.

Those fixtures are stepped backed (out of view) to clear the BE.

Thanks for the replies. I was able to get it to fit by adding a thin layer of grease and applying some heat to the end of the receiver. Thanks everyone.

Excellent! Applying heat didn't work for me, but I'm glad it worked for ya!

What free float tube are you installing on that?  Glad you got it together.
