| Anyone know how the .308 Prvi Partizan 145gr. FMJ ammo is? Has anyone shot this stuff through an ar10? I was thinking of stocking up on some and wanted to make sure it worked correctly and was relaodable (boxer). Thanks |

I was thinking of buying 1000 rounds of the Prvt Partizan. How about the west german or lithuanian .308 in the battle packs (boxer prime)? I wanted to order at least 2000 rounds total. Has anyone actually shot the German, Prvt Partizan or Lithuanian in the ar10? |

Has anyone actually shot the German, Prvt Partizan or Lithuanian in the ar10? I have shot PP, Igman, Win 7.62, Federal M80, a bunch of commercial stuff, and Lithuanian. If you can track down some of the 2005 lots of the Lith with the NATO cross, it is greater than or the equal of all other M80 type ammo I own. Reliable, accurate, nicely packaged, lead with copper jacket (no steel), staked and sealed primers, etc. - it's really good 7.62. All the other stuff functioned as well, just not as good "all around" (for one minor reason or another) as the Lithuanian. My $0.02. ETA: This reccommendation is for the AR-10, should have added that. ETA2: The German is too old to buy, IMO, with the other good and newer offerings on the market (Win 7.62, Lith, PP, Federal can all be found) - spend the same $$$ on newer stuff where you won't run the risk of corroded cases, etc., like some folks are getting. |

my neighbor cleaned out a storage locker at one of her warehouses and came across 600 + rounds of English made .308 still in brown ammo cans and looks great, it says 1985 on the side of each of the green carriers that hold 50 rounds, has the nato circle over cross stamp on the side, any good, whats its worth I don't know, I had to sell my FAL 2 years ago and i only used wolf and silver bear. She just wants to move it and any help or direction to do this would be greatly appreciated, also 500 rnds of wolf 5.45x39 I can't use, and sadly no 5.56/223 for me |

I thought all of the Lithuanian was 03 or 04 headstamp? I have some of both and find it to be top of the line ammo as well. Is the 05 stuff even better? |

Ha, I thought it was as well because that's what it was advertised to be. I have 2K of the 03 and, 500 of the 05 with no NATO corss and ~ 3K of the 05 with the NATO cross as well. I can't tell a difference in performance at the range, but I advised the OP to look for the 05 lots because that's when they got "certified" to bear the NATO cross. I would not say it is better though, but it is newer (slightly) and "certified" so if it can be found for the same price as the 03 or 04 it's the way to go. |

The Lithuanian headstamp GGG (Giraites Ginkluotes Gamykla - Giraite Armament Factory) is sometimes called surplus, but it's new manufacture as far as I know. The factory began production in 2000. The NATO cross may be on some 2005 production and not other because they didn't get their NATO cert until sometime in 2005.
Everything I've found about it says it's excellent ammunition, consistent, and some references call it "near match" quality. I don't know about the "near match" but it gives excellent results out of my M1A. The velocity reports I've seen say 2805 varying to 2850 fps, but nothing official. As far I've found the NATO spec for M80 is 2750 +50fps measured at 78 ft, but I wouldn't guarantee that since there's some guys here that probably have better info than what I found. Bottom line is it's good stuff. |

I haven't chrono'd any of it yet but it seems from most posted chrono results other M80 type ammo is more in the 26xx range with 20" AR barrels. |
