Anyone have any experience with 308 uppers halves on ar-15 lower recievers? So far I've only found one source for 308 upper halves. There must be more... Does the 308 barrel, nut, bolt and carrier fit in a standard 223 upper reciever, or must we use a 308 specific upper reciever? Thanks in advance for your help. |

The .308 NATO wil not fit through an AR-15 lower mag well. At least not at any angle that would allow feeding out of a magazine into the chamber. You have to go with an AR10 lower. |

I'm new to this and am currently looking at assembling an AR15. This is an item of great interest to me. I've seen a lot of uppers in different configurations and wondered about a .308 upper on a .223 lower as well. Is is possible to have a AR10 lower that could accept (and chamber and fire, of course) a .223 upper. Probablly too good to be true, but man how sweet that would be. |
