Not an AR, but this Remington Model 8 holds 15 rounds of 35Rem in its detachable magazine. http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l246/TonyRumore/Rifles/Mdl8a.jpg Awesome. Which mag used there? And did it use shortened 35 rounds to fit the mag? Looks very handy for throwing big lead at multiple Big Critters. |

anybody make one? I did a wildcat off of the old 30 remington that out performs the 35 remington and uses 6.8 bolts and mags I use Hornady ssp/sp 180gr and speer hot-cor 180gr and it feeds great! Works Great on Coyotes too http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee441/mgp11/COYOTE002.jpg I'd say it works well! It blew the spine and ribs right out of that yard dog! |

wow! cool stuff guys....
since i have a 35 Marlin i thought there might be a way but i guess the OAL is too long to fit on an AR15 receiver. have thought about getting a 6.8SPC but ammo is expensive. the 358ARk looks mighty impressive. so does anybody make an upper ready-to-go on something like that or is it a custom build process? |

As others have mentioned, the cartridge is a little long for the AR mag. I went the wild cat route with a rimless version of the .357 Herrett. Work & shoots just fine from the AR 15 platform. MLG I have a dummy cartridge I made up for a rimless 357 Herrett with a shorter neck a few years ago. I'd be interested to hear your results. |

Mine is simply a 30 Rem cartridge (parent case for 6.8 SPC) run through a 357 Herrett die & shortened to a length of 1.70" & fireformed with reduced loads & pistol bullets. Proper bullets are seated to mag length. Reamer is a custom one cut to my specs by PTG. The mag did have to be altered to function properly with the larger diameter bullets just as MGP showed with his creation/post (gotta give credit where its due cause he inspired me to go ahead with mine). I think his is a slightly better cartridge but mine has the benifit of using standard reloading dies that can still be found. Results with Horn 180 SPs are half inch groups with R-7 running right at 2000 fps and 1.5" with H335 at about 2400fps. Both are compressed loads and function just fine with standard buffers. All & all I am quite pleased with it. MLG |

http://www.ar15.com/media/viewFile.html?i=23738 http://www.ar15.com/media/viewFile.html?i=7058 .358 ARk Can be made from Grendel or 7.62x39 Russian.....I prefer the x39 brass over the Grendel, don't end up with the ring in the neck as with the Grendel brass.... runs great from either 10rd or 30rd C-Products 7.62x39 mags....usually have enough slop in them to allow the .358 bullet without any mods.... Mike's .358 on the .30 rem or 6.8 SPC is a great choice if you're set up for SPC..... Have been wanting to do a .358 RAR on .30 RAR brass, but no time....I think it would be a better set-up than the .30 is...... Kurt, How is the 7mm ARK coming? 7.62x40WT still got you tied down? Thanks, 8654 |
