So I installed a 3 prong flash hider with a split washer. I was wondering if I'm supposed to torque it or align it a certain way. Thanks.

Just make sure the prongs face AWAY from the shooter.  Seriously, there is no "indexing" of a three prong that I am aware of.

I would put 1 prong TDC to minimize gas exiting downward. But that's just my OCD.

Actually, that puts a slot blasting straight down.  I don't think it matters much.  We never indexed them.  Just wherever they ended up..

One prong at 6.   Puts others at 2 and 10.

I have a 4 prong. I put one prong straight down to minimize dust kick-up.

For those timing their prongs, does your flash hider not loosen over time?  I find that unless I tighten my FH down all the way, the split washer doesn't really maintain it's position.
