Alrighty guys, my DPMS Tac 20 is coming in on Tuesday, so I have a couple questions.
1st ? I have a Bushnell 5-15x40 scope that I would like to use on this, now my question is do you think this would be a good mount for it? I dont really want to spend the 130 ish on the JP mount, but yet I want a solid mount like this. IF anyone knows other good mounts for a reasonable amount of money thats in the 1" ring size, Id love to see links to them! Here is a cheap one... And here is a nicer one which I think I like a lot more... 2nd ? The front sight is also the gas block, I know that. Can I put on a 4 railed gas block like the one here if I measure the barrel diamater? It seems they come in .750 and .936 3rd ? Is the wolf .308 ammunition with steel cases laquer coated? Also, is it good ammo just to plink with? I reload so as far as coming up with a real nice round for accuracy, thats not a concern, but for plinking on the cheap, will that wolf stuff work? I mean its like 8.89 a box so... 4th ? Will this stock bolt right onto the Tac 20? 5th ? Does anyone know what threading the end of the 20" barrel comes with, so if I wanted to change out the flash supressor I would know which thread style to go with? This looks freakin awesome, not sure if its good or not but I dont know if it will screw right on. I appreciate all the help you guys can offer, im sorry for all the questions but I have been searching and im having a hard time coming up with those exact answers. |
| Not trying bust you up here, but I'm confused, you are willing or want to spend $150 on a flash supressor but only $25 on a scope mount? Think about what the purpose of owning your rifle is. If you want to shoot accurate rounds down range, forget about the flash supressor for now. I'm not familiar with DPMS products, so can't be much help to you there. Look on EE for items similar to what you want to get an idea of what is available, or go to the build it yourself to see what some others have done, that should give you some ideas, but seriously forget the cheap mount. |

The stock will bolt up, but your TAC 20 has an A2 fixed stock. You will need a special DPMS .308 carbine buffer and a .308 buffer spring.
Or, an Armalite buffer tube (5/8" longer), an Armalite .308 buffer spring and an H3 carbine buffer. The barrel threads are 5/8" x 24, which is standard on all .308 ARs and most 6.8s. Your barrel is 0.750" OD at the gas block. |

I thought the burris one is a good choice, and its 60 bucks. Im not planning on getting that tromix shark thing anytime soon, I just think its really cool looking and was curious what threads the barrel are. The flash surpressor is literally the last thing on the list to be bought for the gun. Would this and this be what I need for that stock to work? |

SWFA has a scope mount just like the burris minus the rails on top of the rings for about the same amount. I guess its just a taste thing–– I do not like the rails on the burris mount but others do. Just another choice to look at. |

I found the SWFA site, and I saw a pic of it without the top rails, and I like that the most as I dont need or want the top rails, but there is no link on their site to get it.
So if you know where I can locate one that would be much appreciated. Thanks This is the closest I can get to it, just the picture. Cant find it anywhere... |
