We will be doing some further field testing of our 95 gr. Lehigh CC rounds, 100 gr. Barnes TTSX, and 129 gr. Hornady Spitzer Soft Point
Interbond rounds...Hope to have the results posted by the end of next week (Mon. or Tues.). Hoping to use the Hornady 129 gr, SSP's this hunting season if hopefully the Whitetail cooperate on the hunting we will be using this season. We will be using either the 20" or 22" 6.5mm PCC complete upper with a Weaver Nitrex 3x10x50mm mounted on the upper receiver for the hunting trip... The 120 gr. Speer Hot Cor's have been a serious proven stopper with this round, so the Hornady 129 gr. SSP's should be just as good...Well we hope so anyway...Will be using our trusty HK MR-556 mags (2.308" Max. Kinda doubt that would cycle the action. There are a few guys out there experimenting with the 6.5mm PCC and .277 Wolverine in SBR form and are going (or plan to go) subsonic and/or running a can... getting to them to cycle while staying subsonic is a difficult task to be sure but we believe it can be done once tuned an timed properly, etc. I believe that Mark at MWS the developer of the .277 Wolverine has a few end users that are going to/plan to run SBR's in subsonic form and/or plan to run a can... Choices are great to have...

Shot my 107 grain load at some long range gongs. Just kinda playing around, and getting the come ups roughed in. Here's a short video at 600 yards.....
Vid Also tried to get some subsonic loads going. Used Barnes 140 grain bullets and LT-32 powder. At 13.2 grains velocity = 1220, at 12.4 grains was down to 1180 with the suppressor on. This is in a 20 inch barrel. With the suppressor, the brass actually ejected. Did not chamber the next round. Maybe with a lighter buffer, this may work? |

Great results Hilljack, thanks for posting your results...lighter buffer and/or action spring and possibly a low mass BCG will most likely get you where you need to be, since your already getting it to eject as is, which is a great start ! I hope others who may have a pistol/SBR set up or are running loads subsonic will chime in at some point... CB sent us this update with his 20" Bbl'd 6.5mm PCC...He is getting wonderful groups with his Nosler 120gr NBT's and his Nosler 130gr Accubonds
that were trimmed to fit his Magpul Pmags @ 2.270" COL using this tool and a 5/16 threaded rod... http://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/60271160 He was trying his above rounds at up to 350 yards and getting these wonderful groups and using the latest Magneto Speed Chronograph and getting a average velocity of 2,458 fps. w/ the 120gr. NBT's (using H335 @ 26.5 grs) and 2,325 fps average w/ the 130gr Accubonds (using H335 @ 26.8 grs.). Hitting 8" plates at 350 yards prone w/ a bipod was pretty easy and even considering the poor weather at the outdoor range...sub 1 MOA at all ranges was the norm for the day as it was also witnessed by a fellow shooter shooting his .260 Rem rifle... |

I have a box of 100 to try; what should I start with for the powder load using Hodgdon H335? On a side note, as for a chronograph, so far I think I'm going to go with the Magnetospeed V3. |
