So does  anyone have the dimensions of the back of the 601 upper? I mean there are facets on the back where the charging handle goes into the upper where the newer versions are just radiused slightly. I have a 601 repro sight wheel on order and thought I would do the other mods while I have it apart. Can anyone share this info with me?

Who has repro 601 sight wheels?

A fellow by the name of Jerell was selling repro's for about $43 shipped each. His e-mail is [email protected] . As required by house rules I'll state that I am NOT affiliated with him, I'm just a customer.

Close as I can measure, the middle flat is 0.26" and the ones on the sides are 0.23"

ETA: There is a great deal of variance here...I've seen a couple of original 601 uppers where you could tell the side cuts were different lengths on each side just by looking at them.

His name & e-mail sounds familiar, I've bought from him before, just cannot remember what.

Pretty much what mine come up to, about 1/4" per angle, but that's just using a tape measurer.

I've got one of heatnbeat's 601 repro sight wheels and am very impressed with it. If you don't have the money or have retro BRD bad enough to drop $200 on the real thing, then it's a great alternative.

Thanks for the info! I am still making small improvements on my 601. I will post pics when I get it done.
