Moderator Comparison
Latest word from BRICK. I'm waiting fer that green flag! |

sorry GC but those are XM moderators...the OP asked about 607 moderators, and while similar they differ in that they don't have flash hider slots and are only 3.5 inches long |

I was just reading about it. The 3.5 came about because the three prong wasn't hiding much flash at all and there were some cycling issues. The 4.5" was developed to correct a yawing problem with tracers and to further reduce flash. |

I thought my65pan of retro black rifle makes them. Brick he had some, but he's sold out...don't know if he has plans on making any more or not More can be made, the lack of demand was why I didn't make more of them. I'll make another small run when time permits though. |

looks more like a copy of the 4.5 inch that hasn't had the slots milled yet The few aftermarket mods I've looked at had a straight bore, not a taper...This bore tapers from 3/4" to 5/16" over 1" of length... In use, it functions more like a flash hider than a moderator...(think Enfield Jungle carbine)... |

| I have seen real ones and Bricks look pretty good. Postino, yes I have inspected a real military property 607 moderator and may have some photos around here someplace. Was there something you wanted to know? Edit - OK I read your post more carefully and looked at the pics. I would say whoever did your moderator had never seen the real deal. Picture a moderator about 3.5" OAL with a counterbore of about .500 Dia x .25 deep at the muzzle. Also the moderator will have the same features at the breach end as the 177 type as made by Brick or anyone else who is doing a nice job. |
