| So, looking at the 608 pics on RBR, it looks to me as if a full length buffer tube is used, yet the specs say it had a regular carbine buffer and spring. Was the tube a custom length or was an A1 used? |

Well, perhaps it's possible and it's tempting. That way I could put in a spacer and put a pin through it and the stock to keep it from rotating. Not a bad idea.
For now, I'll just use a rifle buffer and spring. I don't think the added mass would be a bad thing with that short a barrel. |

They 'fixed' early XM177's this way - in fact, one of my SBR builds is going to be a fixed stock XM177E1. I am a little surprised, but I LOVE fixed stock carbines - they just fit me so well... |
| When I was kind of building a 608 I had the RRA entry stock tube and it was nice and short but like Yelpers said it didn't look right with a 10" barrel. I was thinking of going with a 7" barrel and go for a really compact package, but feel like that is waste for 5.56 but a 22 build would have been neat. Gave up on the project since there really weren't any options for handguards then, |
