Im just wondering if any of you guys know if 62gr FMJ bullets act like 55gr FMJ, and if anyone knows of any good ones please tell me. I ask because if i load my own it would be nice to have an almost identical POI from 62gr FMJ and 62gr M855

Something like this

I can tell you that the Prvi 62gr lead core FMJ will fragment after being shot into a half gallon carton of water. It'll have a slightly different BC because it's shorter, but I'm sure you could work up a load thats close to M855.

I bought 500 Armscore (I think) from Midwayusa. I found that they shoot a little low and Left from what my 55 grain Hornady's do. By "a little" I mean A LITTLE. This was at 50 - 100 Yards. At 200 yards, they are as close to, or the same POA -POI as 55 grain. For me, that is. Powder is Accurate 2230, but I don't remember the charge.

Ditto here.  They seem to pretty good value for bulk bullets.  Oh, and if you can find them in stock, Speer also makes a cannalured 62 gr FMJBT that works well.

Theoretically, terminal performance should be similar to M193 bullets.  And, again, theoretically, ballistics should be comparable to other 62 gr. bullets, including M855.  However, due to the steel penetrator, the M855 bullet is longer than a typical lead core bullet of the same weight, so ballistics won't be exactly the same.
