Finally got a front sight tool, made some adjustments then went out today to practice some controlled pairs. The distances were anywhere between 10-30 yards. Average time to shoot a pair was close to two seconds. The more I shoot this rifle the more I am impressed. I am considering running it in a combat shooting match, to see the weak points of using fixed sights under stress. The two shots by the neck were my fault, the rest speaks for itself.

I am using the A1 rear aperture. My next one may have an A2, I can see how fast and accurate that wider aperture is. Honestly enjoying shooting irons more now, it's bringing out the flaws in my ability. Morg, how you been? Will be heading to the fun show tomorrow, hopefully find some more cotton GP straps for my other future builds. Now I need a C7 upper for...reasons.. Funny thing about shooting that 653 clone today, I checked out at the customer counter at the range, and one of the shop employees ( an old SF guy) was like "is that a real SP1 upper reciever? That's badass". That lil carbine gets looks from everyone... Last thing, how do I strip that lower without bead blasting? I want to go Sniper Greyish with the whole thing except the furniture. |

Are you using an A1 or A2 rear aperture? I find the A2 MUCH easier to use, it's the only non-correct part going on my 609.... Well, other than the semi FCG of course.  I swap out all my A1 retro Carbines rears to A2 for my shooters... I just like this combo. |
