| I was at a local fun shop looking at couple Colt 6920's. Price $1355.00 + tax + call. This looks like upper retail when compared to post I 've seen of $1,000-1100. Is this a fair price or should look elsewhere. Another shop in the area said $1200-$1300 range but had none. The only advantage is that I am able to see what I'm buying, while avoiding some of the stories I've read on large pins & blemish ect. What say you? |

Depends how much inspecting the rifle first means to you. I can find them online fairly easily for $1100 which would save you even more since you wouldn't have to pay taxes on it. However some people who are
worried about fit and finish prefer spending the extra locally so they can see it first. In my opinion it's not worth it and I've bought most of my rifles online. Then again, I don't care much for fit and finish, only function. |

I bought about a month ago and paid $1250 through Buds. I never saw any in stock for $1100. Besides I trust Buds they have always been good to deal with and that is worth something in my book. That's about the average price for one but you can find them cheaper with some research. I do like Bud's though. One of my friend's and I recently got a hell of deal from them when they put their FNp-9s for sale @ $369 |

where are you guys finding them for $1100.00? I saw a place in Alabama but they were out. I still would have to pay tranfer fee to dealer along with taxes & shipping. I'll see if a can find some when I get the time. Last time I looked (about a month ago) it wasn't too difficult. You don't have to pay taxes on internet purchases unless the place you're buying from is located in your state. Trust me, this saves a lot of money and I've done it at least 25 times. Shipping is usually $20 and so are transfers so your're basically only adding $40-$50 dollars to an online purchase. If it's anymore than that you're getting ripped off. |

Around here all the local shops wanted $1399-$1599 (!). I got mine from policeguns.com - AKA Clyde Armory- for $1250 (be warned tho, they charge 3% for CC payment; wish I'd have known that). The Colt looked pretty good- tho for some reason the 6920s I've seen, including mine, have this odd wear on the barrel right in front of the FSB that almost makes it look like the barrels rolled around on a bare metal rack for a while or something. Kind of strange. There were no cosmetic blemishes on my rifle serious enough to warrant any concern for myself, however and I am quite happy with the purchase.
PS- The receiver machining was perfect, unlike a few of the problem child 6920s that have been posted about on here. Also, if you do have any blames in the anodizing, they are easy to touch up with the automotive paint touch up tubes sold at wal mart; I just bought one of the generic "flat black" ones and it works great. |
