Does anyone have any idea when Colt to going to start producing 6920s again. I am told that they are going to start shipping them again in the next 4 or 5 months. All you guys are the AR Kings so I thought I would ask. Last question: I already have my order in for a 6920 but I have to wait 4 or 5 more months to get it. Should I get a Bushmaster "which one is closest to the M4" or should I hold on for the Colt?

Thanks

If you want a 6920, wait for a 6920, that way you won't be unhappy 6 months from now.

The Bushmaster is not a very good copy of the LE6920.  If you really want a 6920, and not just a 16" AR-15, you might not be satisfied with ANYTHING other than the original.

Personally, I wanted an "M4 Clone" in a more economical package.  I wanted the features, and the specs, but not necessarily the rollmark.  I chose a CMMG MOD4.  It is VERY true to spec.  It even came with the M16 carrier like the LE6920s do.  It has a T-Marked upper receiver, M4 handguards, M4 type feed ramps, etc...

I added a side sling swivel like the LE6920s come with, and a carry handle from a Bushmaster I now have an Eotech mounted on.  These two add-ons are worth $130, but I already had the carry handle laying around.  I paid about $760 for the rifle, so add the $130, and it still gave me a VERY similar rifle for $250 less than the cheapest LE6920 I ever found.

I love my CMMG.  I prefer it over my three Bushmasters.

Here she is:

If you don't already know how to build an AR, wait for the Colt.  I've been into ARs for about 5 years now and I find something new every day.

I thought you can't use Bushmaster or other commercial carry handles with "F" marked front sight posts?

I see no reason to go with Colt unless it is just for the Colt name.

You can always put a WTB in the Equipment Exchange.

They do show up from time to time in the EE, so keep an eye out for them

I would expect to pay somewhere between $1,150, and $1,400 for a new in box 6920

I will IM you a dealer source that may have one right now BNIB. edit: Scratch that. You are not accepting IM's

Oh well

Nope.  Out of Stock right now.  Colt Defense is in the middle of a big Unkie Sam contract.....so all they are making is M4's ( or something similar ) so it's gonna be a little while till the LE guns are back on the market.

All they have in stcok by the way, is a special 6921HB (only one) and some 6450 9 mil carbines.....that is pretty much it as far as "normal" stuff.

Yep, wait for the Colt.  As said above, they really do "have that feel."  No, I don't drink the koolade.

That being said, I have been superbly pleased with my LMT M4 upper.

If you don't believe the "feel" argument, go to a funshow and hold a Colt, and hold a BM.  The BM doesn't even compare.

Has anyone verified that through research or double blind tests?
