I've been bit by the grendel bug. Quick question, this may sound stupid but can I use a standard 5.56 AR upper to build a 6.5G?
I found an ultra cool looking "Mega HD" upper at rainier arms, but someone told me the ejection port on a true grendel upper is larger than a 5.56 upper.
Is this true?

That someone is full of it.  Standard upper receiver will work fine.  Barrel, bolt, and mags are the only differing parts as with most variants.

Thank you I was hoping that was incorrect information, I'm kinda new to the bigger AR calibers so I wasent sure. And due to the larger case size it seemed to make sense at the time. Great cuz I really like those Mega HD uppers, they look like a cut off chunk of a M82 receiver tube. I wish this site had more in the way of picture posts for the larger caliber guns.

The Alexander Arms Beowulf upper has a larger ejection port.  That is probably what they got mixed up in their head.  I own two grendels and the port is the exact same size as a 5.56..
