I am looking at rebarreling one of my ARs in 6.5 Grendel. After reading some of the FAQ, my understanding is that a 5.56 upper may or may not work, depending on the location of the ejection port. Is there a way to measure the upper to see if the ejection port is at the high end of the tolerance? Is it better to just buy an upper with the barrel? Or is it likely that my current upper receiver (Rock River) will be ok? I'm not against buying another upper receiver, but I'd like to try and use what I have as it is very well matched to the lower in both fit and finish.

Use your existing upper with no concerns. Because Alexander Arms has the option and because Bill Alexander, as an engineer, can be, shall we say, overly detail oriented, they enlarge their ports, but only by thousandths of an inch. You'll be fine runnin' with what ya got.
