Looking to see what the "go to" mags for the 2.3 OAL cartridge length. I've heard all sorts of things about feeding problems, etc. It seems non waffle PRI mags are the way to go, but at $40+ a pop, I wanted to ask the hive |
| I have a few PRI 3rd gen, 2 early model 25rd Cproducts, 2 15rd ASC mags (the ASC were labeled 17rd but I can only get 15rd in them) and I haven't had any feeding issues with any of them. I guess I have been lucky because I have been able to fit my 2.30" length reloads into all my mags. |

it's not the angle, it's the inside width and feedlip width that is the problem. if you compare 6.8 mags to metal 5.56 mags you will notice that the vertical indents are shallower to accommodate the 6.8's need for more internal width. there just isn't the room in a plastic mag to open up the inside dimensions and retain enough strength, while keeping the outside dimension of the AR15 magazine.

Wonder why they swell? Maybe due to the way the 5.56 follower sets up the geometry of how the 6.8 rds stack on top of each other?? That's why I'm wondering if a 6.8 follower would change that angle. |

I've been running them for years and the only issue I've seen were 2 of my 10 needed a feed lip tweaked (just once). They have run perfectly since and AFAIK are the only magazines that allow loading to 2.3". My "Go-to" 6.8 mags are all PRI - the C-Products are for practice. |
