Details on upper, barrel, gas length (Carbine, Midlength, Rifle), brass Manf, magazine Manf, regular Front Sight Base or railed gas block? Pic would be nice. Chrono readings? Does bolt lock back after last shot? Max OAL should be 2.260 same as 223/5.56. If that is Ramshot "X-Terminator" powder then I see it listed right after H322 in my reloading manual. Your load is nearer to the Maximum Load than the Minimum Load, so that rules out weak load. Must be the gun or magazines. Try different mags with only one round in mag, if problem continues, then we'll know it's the gun. |

it doesnt eject the shell the mag wouldnt have anything to do with it ssa brass 20inch barrel cprod mags tried just one at a time the bolt was stuck had to bang the stock on the ground so the bolt let go the brass isnt stuck in there bad like i said the weight of the cleaning rod pushed the shell out |

Any sign on your brass that the ejector is trying to pull the spent case? Typicaly if the ejector tried but was unable to eject, you get some serious ejector marks. If these are not visable on your brass, it sounds like an ejector problem. Maybe a pic of the brass and also your bolt will help someone diagnose your problem. Ricky |

Proper terminology is important when diagnosing problems. The extractor is the spring loaded "claw" on the side of the bolt that grabs the empty case by the rim and pulls it out of the chamber. I suspect the claw on the extractor is broken. The ejector is the spring loaded "button" on the bolt face that throws the empty case out of the ejection port once the extractor pulls it out of the chamber. |

I helped him troubleshoot the problem. There is a ear on the back of the extractor that is in line with the locking lugs. Apparently when the bolt is closed, that ear keeps tension on the extractor which in turn keeps the brass captured until the bolt moves rearward. without that ear, the extractor is unable to grip the brass. That ear was torn or worn off. Cause undetermined. |
