I want build a 733 clone from a colt lightweight target match sporter.

It is a small pin A2 upper, and small pin lower.  The question is does the 733 always have a shell deflector? or No? I feel like I have seen both versions in pictures.  I already have a Colt  A1 upper without shell deflector that I could use and I have an Anchor Harvey Made (Dpms) C7 type upper. Should I just use the A1 upper...and keep the gun all colt or should I use the AH C7 Upper??? Or should I try to find a real Colt C7 upper????

Yes, 733's came in both flavors - regular 603 upper and C7 upper. Technically they are an A2 carbine, although early ones had A2 marked, A1 lowers. I'd build it the way you like.

That's what I thought too.

I like the ones without the Brunton bump, although my 733 replica has a generic C7 style upper...

The 733 was the only carbine besides IDF carbines I know of that used the C7 upper - kind of sets it apart for me. Having Kilmer and DeNiro use it in HEAT kind of makes it a pretty cool variant as well. The 11.5" ltwt barrel is still used on the 933 and 6933 Commandos,  but I think the simple, 733 was maybe the pinnacle of AR15 DI carbine design for me. I haven't been able to bring myself to pull my 6933 barrel yet, but it has a grey Colt carry handle on it, which works for me. Besides, I don't even have the damn stamp under process yet, so it'll be awhile yet. Think I'll go at least set up the trust Friday.
