I have a 7.62x39 upper I bought from a member lately. First post ban I've had that didn't look weird without a fs or fake fs. It's a 762x39 dissapator done by kkf. Fun to shoot and this isn't a problem but can I get a different buffer or spring to cut down the "sproong" sound everytime I shoot? Also the plastic MWG 10 rd mags are worthless but the USA brand is great(I can't believe I'm saying that)

That noise is just part of the AR15 magic. If you don't like it, I've read (from knowledgable source) that you can put enough heavy grease (wheel bearing or chassis grease) in the buffer tube and make it quieter. Never tried it though. If you have a collapsable stock, changing to a standard stock will cut the noise somewhat. But after you shoot it awhile you may come to actually enjoy it.

Wheel bearing will cut the noise down somewhat.  A real noiseless solution for the full stock is the Oly Pneumatic buffer, not cheap though at $129.  I would buy better ear plugs for $20 instead.  The Wolff extra stiff A2 stock recoil spring really tames the recoil for the x39 round.

Beside taming the recoil, do you think it makes it more reliable? Where did/do you get the wolff springs? I was thinking of putting a M4 flat top on mine that has the cutouts in the receiver and mounting an Aimpoint. Thought the cutouts might help with hollow points. Anybody use any mags besides the frankenmags that work any good. Seems like the 10 rd USA work pretty good. CDNN has them for $10. Wondering about the USA 20's (or any 20 rd mags)

www.gunspring.com  That's for Wolff Springs.

The drum mags work okay from the word around the web.

If you put grease in your buffer tube, you'd best be prepared for it be squirted out onto your shoulder.

Boomer, good point if he is using a collapsable style stock, but that wouldn't happen with an A1 or A2 stock, right?

YES, see that small hole in the stock retaining screw?   SQUIRT!!

Now what you going to do when the rifle will not cycle because that thick greast turned really thick like peanut butter in the cold outdoors? No branch of the U.S. Military worries about the sproing sound of the rifle cycle.

I could never see greasing my rifle for anything that minor. I guess as imcoltsguy said
it just part of the "magic". The sproong isn't a big thing anyway. I am going to get a xtra power spring from wolff though. Might help with chambering the hollow points.
