Hey all,
I'm getting into the 9mm AR game and have a quick question.

I've got a PSA Colt style lower
Anderson Upper
KAW 4.5' bbl
KAK Slimline flash

I'm trying to decide what would be the better bolt to get. Should I stick with PSA or go with Frontier?

I am doing a similar build and staying psa.

CMMGs work great.

PSA has one in stock but it's listed for Glock mags.

Where is a good place to get a CMMG?

this is the one you want. it will work with glock or colt, but colt only bolt will not interchange. if not for psa's black friday sale ($64) i would have never bought another "colt bolt".

I thought Frontier made PSA's bolts, and lowers....

QC10 and CMMG are some of the best. Lots of people have good luck with RRA as well.

Bolts listed for Glock mags are cut to accommodate the smaller space between the feed lips of the magazine.  It can be used for Colt style mags too.

They Do. Same stuff different roll marks. The PSA bolts are NFA AR-9 Standard Bolts with different logos.

Off topic but the OP got me thinking.

I thought PSA 9mm lowers were propriety and only worked with PSA uppers and bolts?

Please tell me i am wrong

I assembled one of PSA's kits, their bolt was included. I had it ramped by Rudy and its been working without any issues.

I second or third this.

JP's bolt probably works well too, but pricey.

PSA stuff work with any other AR upper or lower. You can mix and match with other vendors. They say the are proprietary but that is marketing.

I ordered the PSA bolt last night. I'll report when I get it in

On the topic of bolts. Does Rudy's AR9 bolt have the removable weight and the hollow back end of the bolt?
6/12/2016 2:09:57 AM EDT
[#16]
The Macon Armory bolt does have the removable weight, but then the bolt is too short to use with the JP Silent Spring.  The Macon Armory bolt is on the left and a CMT/Stag on the right. The CMT/Stag bolt has the weight removed and I use it with the JP Silent Spring.
ETA: The CMT/Stag bolt shown is a left hand bolt.

I've never had an issue with my CMMG bolt.

No mention of the lone wolf bolt.  It is ramped and cut for Glock magazines.  It is the lowest priced bolt I was able to find as well.
