What kind of comps are you guys using.  I an in the processing of building my first 9mm and looking for some compensator suggestions.  I am thinking of getting EGW's compensator.

There are not a lot of options in 1/2-36 threaded comps.
One solution is to shorten and re-thread to 1/2-28 or better yet 9/16-24.
Then you can open up any comp to clear 9mm bullets.
I prefer the 9/16-24 thread spec because it gives you a stonger barrel at the threads.
Almost any 1/2-28 muzzle device can usually be opened to 9/16-24 without much trouble.

I went with the EGW brake on a competition upper and it has worked well.  Pistol-type comps are designed to work with the low pressure levels associated with pistol cartridges and are probably your best choice.  Rifle comps are designed to work with much more gas and probably won't do much with a 9mm carbine.
